Rising art-rock band Sylvette have dropped an impressive cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic, ‘Right Where It Belongs’. The band manage to put their own spin on a well-loved track by leaning into its introspective emotion for its opening few minutes. Textures start to build in the second half, before bursting into life for a short-but-sweet explosion of string melodies and gritty electronics. They explain that this was “the first cover we’ve ever played together that really felt like we made it our own. The song is about questioning your reality and how going through change and trauma can distort the way you perceive yourself.” This cover is the final track on their new album, Single Thread, which drops on November 25th, 2022. -Dan Peeke.
